Treatment
Trellis Supported Housing is an organization which successfully runs supported housing that provides a safe environment free from substance misuse. This allows those who choose to live drug and alcohol free to be able to do so, firstly with the support of both the staff and other residents and then with the aim of achieving independent living in the community.
The residents will be helped to sustain their recovery by themselves and with the staff. We will encourage practical skills such as budgeting, cooking, living with others, etc. Help and advice can be given in other areas. For example, in the use of computer technology, benefit entitlement, re: training options/courses. The aim is personal growth in the areas of insight of self, honesty, self empowerment, choices and responsibilities. Each person will be respected for their individualism and encouraged to recognize their own potential in society and that of others.
We will develop this progressively through group work, one to one sessions and both practical and creative skill development.
All individuals will take part in devising a customized care plan for the individual. This will be reviewed and changed according to the individuals’ needs and choices. The plan will be a working tool for both the individual and the staff.
A house meeting is held once a week which will be recorded. Any issues raised, which do not have an immediate solution, will be documented and resolutions will be looked at. Any changes that may occur that would directly affect the resident would require consultation to take place. All residents will be encouraged to liaise with staff members.
Access is also granted to exercise facilities at a local gymnasium. A qualified instructor is available to instruct on dietary nutritional information as well as exercise.
Joining the fellowship of a Twelve Step program may be advised and will be supported.
All residents will be given the opportunity to attend the local religious facilities.
Friends, relatives, social workers etc will be encouraged to visit when appropriate to the individual. These visits will be arranged through a member of staff/directly with the resident.
